Fall/Winter 2020 'Co-Ed' Collection

For Autumn-Winter 2020, the brand expands its continual menswear conversation between the streets of Seoul and Paris into an instinctive proposal for the female customer. The genderless discourse is organic. Respecting the way in which women have historically approached Wooyoungmi, male and female codes materialise through anatomical fine-tuning in cut, and in the spontaneous up- and downsizing of garments and accessories. Approaching the co-educational nature of the collection, Wooyoungmi looked to the dress codes of history. The search for the construction and deconstruction of gender norms through the ages was never more adequately illustrated than in Virginia Woolf’s story of Orlando, a man who lives for centuries and turns into a woman.
